If provided, the SRN is prepended to every reference with the “-” separators removed, as recommended by the Commission to avoid duplicate codes across manufacturers. Example: BE-MF-000000106 → BEMF000000106 (13 chars), leaving up to 8 characters for the device reference.

Check characters are computed per Annex 1: prime-weighted character values (Table 1), Mod 1021, two check characters from Table 2. Validated automatically on every load against the worked examples in the Commission document (BEMF000000106CR023335 → WE, CR0233 → 68). Verify registrations in EUDAMED; this tool does not check uniqueness against codes already registered by other manufacturers.
