Date: 27-28 November 2025
Location: Shanghai, China
Introduction:
The 3rd AMD (AdvaMeDevice) Innovation Forum will be held in Shanghai on Nov 27-28, 2025, hosted by Shanghai Yangtze River Delta Medical Device Industry Development Promotion Association and Biomap Global.
The theme this year is “Co-Create for the Future — Driving Global Innovation, Building an Industrial Ecosystem”. The Forum will bring together authoritative experts and industry leaders, and focuses on in-depth discussions around policy and regulatory trends, core technology innovation, clinical application practices, medtech–engineering collaboration models, and global development pathways.
The global medtech sector is undergoing rapid innovation and structural shifts, driven by advances in AI, digital surgery, personalized implants, and minimally invasive technologies. At the same time, tightening regulations, supply chain volatility, and centralized procurement are reshaping global strategies and local operations. In Europe, the EU-MDR and EU-IVDR are still being implemented, but progress remains slow. The EU Commission’s evaluation highlights key inefficiencies, prompting the European Parliament to push for a more streamlined and cost-effective regulatory system. As a result, a targeted revision of the EU-MDR is on the horizon, with expected changes to Notified Body operations, clinical requirements, governance, and more.
Gert Bos is invited as an honorable speaker at the forum and will talk about 'The latest and upcoming changes in the EU on MDR regulations'. The session will explore details on the process and direction of the upcoming changes mentioned above, alongside a brief update on current state of implementation.
